Nine questions the post keeps bringing
Each of these has arrived more than once, and two of them arrive most weeks. Anything outside the nine still gets a proper answer from a person.
The nine
Can you help me fly my dog somewhere?
No, and that is a firm no rather than a soft one. This journal does not carry animals, arrange carriage, broker it or point readers at companies that do. The look up on the front page searches flights for people only.
Will you tell me whether it is too hot for my dog?
No. Records give the air temperature, what the surface was doing and the hours the route was walked in. What that means for a particular animal is a question for the person who treats that animal, and this publication is not qualified to answer it.
Do you sell anything?
Nothing at all. There is no storefront on this site, no reservation to make, no admission to pay and no figure printed anywhere. Commerce enters at exactly one point, the look up, which sets out its own terms on its own page.
How is the journal paid for?
A trip booked after using the look up can pay a commission to the journal. That is the entire income. No record is sponsored, no mention has been bought, and no route was walked because somebody asked for it.
Are the distances accurate?
They are paced on the route itself, written to a tenth of a mile, and an out and back keeps both legs in the figure. The times are what the clock actually showed, at the speed of an animal who stops to read things, rather than a pace multiplied by a distance.
What do the four tags under each route mean?
Shade as a fraction of the route with the hour attached, water an animal can actually reach, the surface underfoot, and what the sign at the trailhead says about leads, quoted rather than interpreted. The index explains each one at more length.
Who writes it?
Marisol Vance, on her own, published by Shade and Water Press LLC of Austin. Nobody else is employed, nothing is syndicated in, and there is no second name on any record. Readers whose notes become routes are credited inside them. Registered particulars sit on the about page.
Do you track visitors?
Nothing measures a visit here: no script, no advertising code, no pixel, on any of the eighteen pages. The one thing written is a storage line that keeps the notice card from reappearing, and the privacy policy prints both its name and its contents.
