Terms of Use

These terms cover the website you are reading. They are written plainly because a person planning a week away with a dog should not need help reading them.

Nothing on this site can be bought. A booking exists only when a property confirms it in writing.

Read these before you send us anything. If a clause below does not sit right with you, say so in your first message and we will tell you whether we can work around it. Usually we cannot, and it is better for both sides to know that on day one.

  1. 1. Who publishes thisThis website is published by Travel Pet Adventures Bookings LLC, a company doing business as Travel Pet Adventures, with its office at 5601 Green Valley Drive, Suite 240, Bloomington, MN 55437. Telephone +1 (952) 897-4126. Written questions go to alongside@travelpetadventures.com, and anything wrong on a page goes to underfoot@travelpetadventures.com. Where these terms say we, us or this office, they mean that company and nobody else.
  2. 2. What this company isWe are an independent agency. We plan vacations that a person takes accompanied by their own dog, and we book those vacations with the businesses that own and run them. We do not own, lease, staff, manage or operate a single property, vehicle, boat, trail or piece of ground described on this site. Everything you would use on one of these weeks belongs to somebody else and is run by somebody else.
  3. 3. Nothing here is for saleThis site has no checkout, no cart and no payment field, and it never will. You cannot buy a trip on these pages, reserve one, hold one or pay a deposit toward one. Every figure printed here is a starting point for a conversation, not an offer capable of being accepted. Sending us a message buys nothing and commits you to nothing.
  4. 4. When a booking existsA booking exists at the moment the property confirms it in writing and not one minute earlier. Before that point, our figure, our email, our itinerary draft and any dates we have discussed are all provisional, and any of them can change. We will send you the property's own written confirmation. If you do not have that document, you do not have a booking, whatever else you may have in your inbox from us.
  5. 5. Whose rules govern the stayThe property's contract governs your stay, not ours. Their terms decide the deposit, the balance date, the cancellation window, the damage policy, the number of dogs allowed, whether a dog may be left alone indoors, and every other condition of being there. We will point you at those terms and answer questions about them. We cannot change them, waive them or overrule them, and any promise we appear to make that contradicts them loses.
  6. 6. What the three answers meanEach trip on this site carries one of three answers about how far the dog gets to come: all of it, almost all of it, or part of it. Those answers describe what the businesses on that itinerary told us their policy was at the time we last checked, and each exclusion under almost all of it and part of it is named in writing before you book. The answers are a filing system for planning, not a warranty. They are not a promise that any door will be open on the day, and they say nothing about whether a place is suitable, safe or comfortable for any particular animal.
  7. 7. If a property changes its mindPolicies change and they change without telling us. A property that took dogs last season may stop, may cap the number, may add a fee, may restrict which rooms or which fields are open. Where that happens after a booking is confirmed, the outcome is set by the property's own contract, and the risk of that outcome sits with you, because your contract is with them. What we will do is tell you the moment we hear, put the question to them in writing on your behalf, and look for something else if you want us to. What we cannot do is make them honor a policy they have withdrawn.
  8. 8. What this office answers forWe answer for our own work: passing on your requirements accurately, telling you what a property actually told us, naming the closed items before you commit rather than after, and correcting our own mistakes at our own cost. Where we have gotten something wrong and you have relied on it, tell us and we will put right what is ours to put right. We do not answer for the acts, omissions, standards, staffing, weather, road conditions or business decisions of any third party, and we do not answer for indirect or consequential loss.
  9. 9. What you answer forYou answer for your dog, everywhere and at all times, including on ground that belongs to somebody else. You answer for reading the property's terms before you sign them, for giving us accurate information about your party and your animal, for obeying leash rules and posted restrictions, and for any damage caused during the stay. Anything to do with your dog's health or medical fitness for a long drive is a question for your own veterinarian, not for us. That subject sits entirely outside what this office does, and we will not offer a view on it.
  10. 10. Which law appliesThis document, and anything contested that grows out of it or out of your use of these pages, runs under the laws of Minnesota and by applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts sitting in Minnesota have jurisdiction. If a court finds any clause here unenforceable, that clause is severed and the rest stands.

Things this site deliberately does not carry

Some of these are absences you might notice and wonder about. Each one is a decision, not an oversight.

A running clock or counter
There is no countdown anywhere on this site and no line telling you how many places are left. Neither would be true, and both exist to rush people.
Stars, scores or ratings
We publish no reviews, no star counts and no scores, our own or anybody else's. We describe what a place is like and let you decide.
A registration or license number
We print no such number on these pages, and you should not read any line here as a claim to hold one. Where you want to know what filings a company has made, ask us in writing at alongside@travelpetadventures.com and we will answer.
Matching somebody else's figure
We do not match figures and we make no claim about being the lowest anywhere. Our numbers are what the properties quoted, plus nothing.
A policy sold against your week
We sell no coverage of any kind and we are not in that business. Whether you want a policy is your call and it is bought elsewhere.
Any service to do with moving or treating an animal
We do not move, ship or transport animals, we do not arrange anyone to look after a dog, and we offer no medical or health guidance of any sort. If you need any of that, it is yours to arrange, and health questions belong with your own veterinarian. See what belongs with your veterinarian.

Money, refunds, returns, delivery and repeat charges

These five headings appear on most commercial sites. Here is what each one means on a site with no checkout.

Money you pay us
None. This office charges the traveler nothing at any stage: no consultation fee, no planning fee, no booking fee, no service charge. We are paid a commission by the property after travel has happened, and that commission does not increase what you pay.
Money you pay the property
Everything. Deposits and balances go to the business you booked, directly, on their own terms and to their own schedule. We never take, hold, process or store a payment on their behalf, and we never ask for card details.
Refunds and cancellations
A refund, where one is due, comes from the property under the contract you signed with them. We do not hold your money, so we cannot refund it. What we do is press your case in writing. The mechanics are set out at cancellation terms.
Returns and delivery
Nothing physical is sold or shipped from this site, so there is no returns window and no delivery. Documents we send you arrive by email, normally within read the same working day for a message and two to four working days for a figure.
Repeat or automatic charges
There are none. No subscription, no membership, no auto renewal, no card kept on file, and nothing that bills again later. One trip is one conversation, and it ends when you get back.

Other companies, and what may appear here later

Links on these pages sometimes point at businesses that are not us. Their sites are theirs. We do not control what they publish, we do not check their pages on a schedule, and a link from here is a pointer for your convenience rather than an endorsement or a statement that we have vetted anything. Read their terms and their privacy notices on their own sites, because ours do not apply there.

The same goes in reverse. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting that any property, association or other business has approved us, appointed us or authorized us to speak for it. We speak for ourselves.

One planned change is worth stating in advance. This office may in future put a fare search tool on a subdomain of this domain. If that happens, the tool will be operated by a third party company, the results shown in it will come from that company and not from us, and its own terms will govern its use. It will be disclosed as such at the point where it appears. Until it appears, no such tool exists here, and nothing on these pages searches, prices, holds or sells air travel of any kind.

When these terms change

We update this page when the way we work changes, and the version you are reading is the one that applies to your dealings with us from the day you read it. We do not email out revisions. If a term matters enough to your plans that a change would affect them, print or save the page before you commit, and ask us in writing to confirm the point. A written answer from alongside@travelpetadventures.com beats anything you remember being told on the telephone, which is why we put the important things in email. General questions about how any of this works in practice are answered at the short answers.
