I always wanted to visit the Netherlands and Amsterdam, I know how the city is famous for been an expensive destination, so I came across this opportunity on Trusted House Sitters website to take care of only 1 cat, Isis, in Amsterdam during 16 days. The dates where perfect as well as the destination! I applied and I got the house sit and pet sit.

Airbnb with pets!

I always tell my friends that I travel the world house sitting and pet sitting which at the end, in my opinion, is a much better version of Airbnb as it comes with pets to keep me company! And the best part yet, I don’t have to pay for my accomodations!

The whole experience of traveling again in a world post quarantine and Covid was somehow different and in some ways a new experience. The airports are still quiet and everybody has to wear face masks we have to keep the secure distance from each other. The alcool gel is now an essential item and I am personally worried about washing my hands more often.

I arrived in Amsterdam, the flight was not full as middle sits were left empty. Also the airport in Amsterdam is still very quiet with only a few people. Amsterdam feels good at the moment as there are no many tourists here and there are less bicycles in the streets!

The Red Light district is also quiet as the sex workers are not allowed to get back to work yet. All this means, it is a great time to be a tourist! I can stroll around the canals and have a nice table with canal views without any problems. No lines for museums or the famous restaurants! I am feeling like a local!
